Man finds 13th century treasure while metal detecting

On a sunny morning one man makes the find of a lifetime while pursuing his favorite hobby of metal detecting.

Every metal detectorist dreams of finding silver, gold or platinum. Some metal detecting addicts are looking for that lost rare coin, others are looking for some dropped piece of jewelry that wasn’t noticed missing until you arrived home and some metal detecting addicts are just out for fun! Either way we always find something. Sometimes it’s valuable and sometimes it’s not.

North Yorkshire, England
While metal detecting just above a flood plain with his Tesoro Lobo Supertrack metal detector “Tyre Junkie” gets a signal in his headphones. He looks down at the old crumbled earth where the signal originated and notices a shiny gold object.  ( Now every metal detectorist gets excited seeing that color, it’s what we as metal detecting addicts live for!) Half buried in the earth like some prehistoric fossil this 13 or 14th century treasure winks in the sunlight.

This lost piece of medieval jewelry has been waiting patiently in the earth for someone to come along and claim it!

Get yourself a Tesoro lobo Supertrack and see what you can dig up!

Tesoro Sand Shark Finds Indian Head Nickel

This morning the coins were everywhere in the surf.

As I strolled along the beach this morning searching for treasure with my Tesoro Sand Shark Metal detector, I managed to find a nice line parallel to the beach where the tide deposited quite a few coins. Metal Detecting addicts refer to this area as the coin line. If you can find it, stick on the line and you will find more than lost change. Sometimes you can find jewelry but today I had a real surprise when I pulled a 1936 Indian Head Nickel from the sand. It was over a foot deep but my Tesoro Sand Shark had no problems finding it for me.
